If you ever feel discomfort or pain when exercising or increasing your level of activity you should stop exercising and consult your doctor.
Always increase your level of activity gradually. This includes both the amount of time and intensity.
If you start exercising after a period of relative inactivity, start slowly, set realistic targets and aim for long-term improvement, don’t rush in.
Warm up and warm down, every time you start exercising take a couple of minutes to warm up, stretch or walk a little and build up gradually.
When you have finished exercising repeat the warm up, stretch and walk gently. |

If you ever feel sick, tired, dizzy or generally unwell stop exercising.
Always consider your safety, don’t walk alone at night, always keep to well lit areas, if you are in a gym train with another person.
