Here are some easy meal ideas to help you incorporate healthy diet changes into your current diet.
Breakfast
- Fruit or unsweetened fruit juice.
- Cereal (porridge, weetabix) ideally with skimmed milk.
- Wholemeal bread with MUFA marg or jam.
- Tea/coffee with low fat milk.

Mid-morning
- Fruit or fruit juice.
- Low calorie drink.
- Oatmeal or digestive biscuit.
Main meal
- Soup (not cream).
- Beans or fish or chicken or cottage cheese.
- OR lean red meat (all fat cut off, try not to eat meat more than 1 a day).
- OR Eggs.
- With lots of vegetables (try to have 2 types).
- With potatoes (baked or boiled) or bread or rice or pasta.
- Fresh fruit or low fat yoghurt.
Mid afternoon
- Fruit or fruit juice.
- Low calorie drink.
- Oatmeal or digestive biscuit.
Snack or sandwich meal
- Beans or fish or chicken or lean meat or curd or cottage cheese.
- Salad (no mayo or salad cream).
- Wholemeal bread or bun or crispbread with suitable margarine.
- Fruit or low fat yoghurt or suitable cakes.
Bedtime
- Tea or coffee with skimmed milk
- Wholemeal bread with suitable margarine.
